Owned by Paul and Anthony, the creators behind the popular YouTube channel Narrowboat Life Unlocked, Dexter's Star was designed and built closely with them to suit their life on the waterways. In 2026, Dexter's Star won Favourite Boat in Show at the Crick Boat Show.

About Dexter's Star
Built in close collaboration with its owners, who brought years of narrowboating experience to the project, Dexter's Star is a truly bespoke narrowboat. Every detail was carefully considered, with ideas developed together to create a boat perfectly suited to the way they wanted to cruise. Predominantly built by our skilled team in the Czech Republic before being transported to the UK for completion and commissioning, the boat features bespoke kitchen cabinetry and a custom-built bookcase, reflecting the care and attention that went into every stage of the build.
Designed for continuous cruising and off-grid living, Dexter's Star is powered by electric propulsion and equipped with state-of-the-art flat solar panels. Features such as thermal-break double-glazed privacy windows, flyscreen blinds, a filtered water system and surround sound speakers create a comfortable space for life on the water, while the enhanced cruiser stern with integrated seating, Tek-Dek flooring, pram cover and metallic Aston Martin Skyfall paintwork give the boat a distinctive finish.
Dexter's Star is a great example of what can be achieved when experienced owners work hand in hand with skilled craftsmen, combining practical knowledge with expert boatbuilding to create a narrowboat that feels completely personal from bow to stern.

“We did a lot of research and spoke to many existing customers before taking the plunge and asking Elton Moss to build our new boat. We were impressed by the feedback we received from existing customers and even got to see the quality of the workmanship first hand when we moored next to an existing Elton Moss Boat.
We absolutely love our new boat. The internal layout was exactly what we were hoping for. The woodwork is made by experienced craftsman and you can definitely see and feel the quality. We went for a slightly smaller boat than our previous one, but we seem to have more internal space somehow.
We absolutely love the galley, loads of storage and worktop space and the colour gives a great accent to the rest of the boat. The dinette is generously sized and converts into a double bed and the saloon is large enough to accommodate a four-seater sofa and they even managed to fit in a bespoke bookcase.
We have a great sized bathroom and a massive king size bed. We have a fixed skylight over the dinette which floods the boat with natural light.
We wanted window blinds with alternating fly screens/blackout blinds after seeing this at Crick boat show the previous year. These are brilliant and the frames for the blinds have been hand crafted and look amazing.
The overall feel is homely but modern at the same time.
We went with electric again and we are so pleased with the performance of the boat. We wanted a spray finish and the guys in the Czech Republic did an amazing job; the finish is beautiful.
We are honestly over the moon with our boat and can highly recommend Elton Moss if you are considering a build of your own. We feel like this is our dream boat.
