“We did a lot of research and spoke to many existing customers before taking the plunge and asking Elton Moss to build our new boat. We were impressed by the feedback we received from existing customers and even got to see the quality of the workmanship first hand when we moored next to an existing Elton Moss Boat.
We absolutely love our new boat. The internal layout was exactly what we were hoping for. The woodwork is made by experienced craftsman and you can definitely see and feel the quality. We went for a slightly smaller boat than our previous one, but we seem to have more internal space somehow.
We absolutely love the galley, loads of storage and worktop space and the colour gives a great accent to the rest of the boat. The dinette is generously sized and converts into a double bed and the saloon is large enough to accommodate a four-seater sofa and they even managed to fit in a bespoke bookcase.
We have a great sized bathroom and a massive king size bed. We have a fixed skylight over the dinette which floods the boat with natural light.
We wanted window blinds with alternating fly screens/blackout blinds after seeing this at Crick boat show the previous year. These are brilliant and the frames for the blinds have been hand crafted and look amazing.
The overall feel is homely but modern at the same time.
We went with electric again and we are so pleased with the performance of the boat. We wanted a spray finish and the guys in the Czech Republic did an amazing job; the finish is beautiful.
We are honestly over the moon with our boat and can highly recommend Elton Moss if you are considering a build of your own. We feel like this is our dream boat. Winning the coveted Favourite boat in show at the Crick Boat Show is a testament to the hard work and years of boat building experience you get from Elton Moss.”
“Having lived on an older boat for a couple of years, we decided to take the plunge and have a brand new one built for us.
Elton Moss was our first choice, as we had seen their boats out and about and we were always struck by their quality. "Elton Moss Boatbuilders are a quality boatbuilder that can be trusted. Ours was built by their workforce in the Czech Republic and was a bit delayed in the factory but the support team always sent build photos and updates regularly to keep us excited.
It is a standard Westminster boat range design from their catalogue but shortened to 52 feet at our request as we wanted a smaller boat and has a few extras on it from their options list. It was transported to Northwich by road and cruised back to their Middlewich boatyard for 4 weeks of extra customisation and extensive sign-writng.
What we have now is a boat finished to our specification with a high quality handmade wooden interior and have a smile on our faces from ear to ear.
We have cruised the cut and had regular comments from fellow boaters and public on the towpath on how bright, shiny and cheery our boat colours are with its lovely sign-writing and styling. We use it nearly every week and miss it if we are elsewhere.

“We bought Kingfisher for the next phase of our retirement adventure and she’s fantastic!
We haven’t had much chance to enjoy her yet as I’m recuperating from knee surgery. And even in this, the team were brilliant with Artie Chalmers offering to effectively look after her on his own mooring until we could get something fixed up. Although we really appreciate the offer we didn’t want to inconvenience him so sorted out a marina until I’m fixed enough to get back down.
The boat is an absolute delight and we both felt right at home immediately. Cannot recommend these people highly enough, they have gone above and beyond at every turn.
